RAS Named a Finalist for the 2025 ECOSTAR Awards in Construction & Manufacturing

We’re proud to share that Ron Anderson & Sons Ltd. has been named a finalist for the 2025 Ecostar Awards in Construction and Manufacturing: presented to businesses, non-profits, academic institutions, governments, and individuals who have demonstrated exceptional environmental and social initiatives.

As part of our comittment to sustainability, RAS particpates in the BMEX (Building Materials Exchange) network, connecting local companies to keep usable materials in circulation and out of the landfill. Through GFL Environmental, we also recycle cardboard, paper, and wood, and we responsibly handle metal, cans, and bottles through local recyclers.

We also make scrap wood for community use, and we frequently put out surplus usable materials on a first-come, first-served basis.

Earlier this year, RAS completed a Circularity Assessment witht the Synergy Foundation’s Project Zero, achieving a circularity score of 39%, a strong result for our industry. Since the initial review we’ve implemented many of the recommendations and expect to score even higher in the next assessment, once our facility renovations are complete.

The Ecostar Awards celebrate environmental leadership across Vancouver Island, recognizing organizations that are driving sustainability forward. Winners will be announced on November 13th.
